3 drown in Negros

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Three persons including a four-year-old boy drowned in separate incidents in the Negros Island Region on Saturday.

Rayden Sinfuego was found floating in a well near their residence in Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental.

Sinfuego’s mother told probers that she woke up and discovered that her son was missing.

She said she searched outside and found him in the well.

On the same day, a drunk man reportedly jumped into the water as he and his friends were having a boat ride in Tayasan, Negros Oriental.

Probers said Billy Calumba, 61, drowned as he was trying to swim toward the shore in Barangay Matu-og.

Calumba was declared dead on arrival at the Tayasan Rural Health Clinic.

Meanwhile, in Negros Occidental, a man drowned as he and his friends were having an excursion in Barangay Bulanon, Sagay City.

Ramyl Carvajal of Pontevedra town was declared dead on arrival in the nearby Lopez Foundation District Hospital.

Witnesses told probers that Carvajal was seen having a drinking session with his friends minutes before he drowned.
