3 Rizal cop chiefs replaced

The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Three police chiefs in Rizal province were replaced yesterday for their poor performance in the implementation of the anti-drug campaign.

Superintendents Simnar Gran of the Antipolo City police and Ruben Piquero of San Mateo were replaced by Superintendents Ruben Andiso and Noel Ponollera, respectively.

Ponollera of the Rodriquez police was replaced by Superintendent Bogard Arao as officer-in-charge.

Chief Superintendent Valfrie Tabian, director of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) police said more officials would be replaced next week due to poor performance and involvement of their personnel in the illegal drug trade.

Tabian said all chiefs of police in Calabarzon, including the five provincial directors, would be affected in the reshuffle.

Meanwhile, chiefs of police in Central Luzon and their provincial directors face immediate relief from their posts if they fail to meet the deadline on putting up so-called reformation centers for drug surrenderees in their jurisdiction.

Central Luzon police acting director Chief Superintendent Aaron Aquino said police officials have until Sept. 7 to put up reformation centers.

Aquino appealed to local government units to help the Philippine National Police construct reformation centers, as the PNP has no budget for them.
