Ex-fireman slain in gun attack

BACNOTAN, La Union, Philippines – A retired fireman was killed while a construction worker was seriously wounded in separate gun attacks in this town yesterday. 

Senior Inspector Fredilex Marron, Bacnotan police chief, identified the slain fireman as Bienvenido Bucsit, 55.

Bucsit was in front of his house when unidentified men shot him several times. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bacnotan District Hospital.

Godofredo Murao Jr., 33, was directing traffic near a construction site when motorcycle-riding men shot him. He was brought to the Lorma Medical Center in San Fernando City.
