Janitor slain over lechon head

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – A school janitor has been killed for failing to produce a roasted pig’s head entrusted to him by his co-workers in Igbaras, Iloilo.

Initial investigation showed Alfredo Encio was hit with a flower pot by construction worker Jose Escosado when he did not bring the lechon head to their bunkhouse after an alumni homecoming at the Igbaras National High School on Sunday night.

Inspector Seferino Gelpe, Igbaras police chief, said Escosado and his companion Mark Anthony Licos fled after the incident, but were arrested in a follow-up operation.
