BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – A Filipino-American was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men here last Wednesday.

Bernard Jereza, 46, of Washington, was standing in front of his uncle’s house in Barangay Sum-ag when he was killed at around 5:45 p.m.

Jereza was declared dead on arrival at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center.

Probers recovered five bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.

Witnesses said the assailant’s face was covered with a handkerchief while the driver was wearing a helmet.      

Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
