South Cotabato leads in firecracker incidents in central Mindanao

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines — The Department of Health recorded a total of 30 cases of firecracker injuries from December 24 to 25 in Region 12, the DOH regional office in Central Mindanao announced on Friday.

Jenny Ventura, information officer of the DOH office in Region 12, said South Cotabato accounts for most number of Christmas revelry related injuries.

She said South Cotabato had 16 cases while North Cotabato and Gen. Santos City had four and two cases each, respectively.

Kidapawan City had a total of nine recorded firecracker injury cases, according to Ventura.

Region 12 had more than a hundred injury cases during last year's Christmas and New Year's Day revelries.
