Cops attending mass before Rody’s SONA

MANILA, Philippines - Officials and members of the National Capital Region Police Office will gather at the NCRPO headquarters at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig tomorrow for a thanksgiving mass ahead of President Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 24.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa and NCRPO chief Director Oscar Albayalde will attend the mass, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Grotto of Our Lady of Fatima.

Albayalde said the policemen to be deployed for the SONA at the Batasang Pambansa complex in Quezon City would be blessed during the mass to be officiated by Fr. Ricardo Mariano Eleazar.

The five district directors and 38 police station commanders in Metro Manila are expected to attend the event.

Around 6,000 police officers will be deployed to secure the SONA.
