LIVE: Senate probe into reinstatement of Espinosa slay cops

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs holds an inquiry into the reinstatement of the cops linked to the killing of Mayor Rolando Espinosa of Albuera, Leyte.
Sen. Panfilo Lacson, chair of the Senate panel which launched an investigation into the death of Espinosa and inmate Raul Yap last year, leads the inquiry.
Lacson earlier opposed President Rodrigo Duterte’s announcement that he had ordered the cops accused of killing Espinosa, Superintendent Marvin Marcos and his 18 men, to return to active service.
