Makati’s top cop replaced over rising crimes
MANILA, Philippines - Makati City’s police chief was replaced yesterday for failing to stop the rising crime incidence, especially robberies in air-conditioned buses.
Senior Superintendent Milo Pagtalunan, a member of Philippine National Police Academy Class ’92, was ordered relieved and reassigned to Camp Crame by National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde.
He was replaced by Senior Superintendent Dionisio Bartolome, a member of PNPA Class ’95 and former personnel chief of the Police Regional Office 4-A.
Albayalde directed Bartolome to go to work and solve the cases left behind by Pagtalunan.
“He (Bartolome) should solve all the cases, especially the air-con bus robberies along Buendia since December. He also should work on the case of a woman who was slain recently while fighting off robbers,” he said.
