‘Dindo’ enters Philippine Area of Responsbility

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration on Wednesday reported that Typhoon “Dindo” (International name: Lionrock) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility although storm warning signals have yet to be raised.

At 12:00 noon, Dindo’s eye was traced 1,200 kilometers East Northeast of Itbayan, Batanes.

PAGASA said it is packed with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometer per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

Dindo is expected to bring an estimated moderate to heavy rainfall amount within the 500 km diameter of the typhoon. It is also expected to move south southwest at 7 kph.

The weather bureau however clarified that there are no signal warnings raise but sill alerted the public concerned agencies to monitor the weather situation.

“The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today,” PAGASA sain in its advisory. —Rosette  Adel
