Rody family arrives in Manila

Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Members of the family of president-elect Rodrigo Duterte arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 yesterday on Philippine Airlines flight PR1812.

They are in Manila for the incoming president’s oath taking at Malacañang tomorrow.

Among the names included in the PAL passenger manifest from Davao were Duterte’s former wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, and their children Sara, Davao City mayor; and Paolo, Davao City vice mayor.

Zimmerman and Duterte have another child, Sebastian.

Despite their separation, ship, Duterte and Zimmerman have remained good friends.

Meanwhile, Duterte has an 11-year-old daughter, Veronica, with nurse turned businesswoman Cielito Avanceña, his partner of 20 years.

Zimmerman was reportedly the first person whom Duterte told about his plans to run for president.

Duterte rushed to the hospital bed of his former wife, who has stage 3 breast cancer, and showed her his certificate of candidacy.

Ever supportive of all his decisions, Zimmerman even joined the campaign sorties of Duterte.

Although Duterte has announced that his official first lady will be Sara, Avanceña will be keeping house for him.
