AFP: No terror threats against Poe
MANILA, Philippines - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) denied reports that there are terror plots against presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe.
"Base po sa amin dito sa aming tanggapan, wala po kaming natatanggap na ganyang report, being deputized agencies of Comelec, we continue to work with the police who are our lead for the security of the elections," AFP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said.
According to reports, there are groups planning to sabotage the campaign of Poe as she is leading the presidential surveys.

Padilla assured that the AFP and the Philippine National Police is doing its best to ensure a peaceful campaign period.
The military is increasing its efforts in its operations against threat groups in the country such as the New People's Army, Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters, Abu Sayyaf Group and private armed groups.
The AFP operations seek to keep the threat groups from conducting election-related atrocities.
The campaign period for the national elections officially kicked off last Tuesday and was considered "generally peaceful" by the military and the police. - Patricia Lourdes Viray
