P-Noy Christmas: Movie with Bimby

Aurea Calica - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Like most Filipinos, Christmas day was family time for President Aquino.

His youngest sister, actress and television host Kris, posted their family photos on social networking site Instagram on Christmas Eve.

One Instagram photo showed the bachelor President with his sisters, their spouses and children, with Kris greeting everyone “Merry Christmas!” on behalf of their family.

Another photo, captioned “Seryoso silang dalawa (They both look serious),” shows Aquino with his nephew James Yap Jr., or Bimby.

Kris also said that their whole family, including the President, was set to watch Bimby’s latest movie “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” at SM Megamall in Ortigas Center yesterday.

“Hindi na nakatanggi nung nilambing ni Bimby (He was not able to refuse Bimby’s gentle persuasion),” Kris said, referring to the President.

Aquino had repeatedly bared that his wish was for Filipino families to spend quality time together this holiday season.

“The same as it has always been. Christmas reminds us of Christ, Virgin Mary, St. Joseph. Christ was born, Christ came into this world to save us from all of our sins. But the important thing is perhaps that the family was intact and as a Filipino, I really want to make sure that our Filipino families get in touch with other and in effect re-bond with each other, reunite and keep that family intact regardless of the distances involved,” he said.

“So the wish really is for families to get together, to be at peace and to be full of joy and optimism, especially for the coming year,”
