San Luis' Sabutan Festival

MANILA, Philippines - Ongoing at the town of San Luis in Aurora Province is the 50th Golden Jubilee celebration slated until Aug. 25.

Spearheaded by San Luis Mayor Annabelle Tangson, the celebration jumpstarted last Aug. 21 with an early morning motorcade and opening of the Agro-Tourism Fair followed by a cultural presentation in the evening.

Highlight of the event is the Sabutan Festival, the native and colorful dance competition highlighting the indigenous products of Aurora Province.

Sabutan is one of the indigenous raw materials abundantly growing at San Luis vast forest. Handcrafted Sabutan products have found their niche in the local and international markets. 

The celebration will be capped in the evening of Aug. 25 with the Binibining San Luis contest to be hosted by Luke Mijares together with beauty titlists Vangie Pascual, Ma. Isabel Lopez and Azenith Briones.
