Aiming for the ‘World’

As in the various beauty pageants this and the previous years (so many that we have lost count, haven’t we?), Funfare’s “beauty experts” Celso de Guzman Caparas and Felix Manuel have drawn up their annual “most likely” lists among the 35 Miss World-Philippines 2017 hopefuls aiming to bag the major title and three others at stake (Reina Hispanoamericana Filipina, Miss Multinational-Philippines and Miss Eco International-Philippines) during the grand finals on Sunday, Sept. 3, at the SM Mall Of Asia (MOA), covered by GMA.

The winner, who will succeed reigning Miss WP Catriona Gray, will compete in the Miss World pageant in China on Nov. 18; Reina in Bolivia also in November; Multinational in India in December; and Eco in Egypt in April 2018.

Celso chose 16 and Felix, 15. They agreed on 11, namely at random):

#15 Laura Lehman, 24, Makati City;

#26 Janela Joy Cauton, 20, Masbate;

#9 Teresita Ssen Winwyn Marquez, 25, Parañaque City;

#24 Zara Carbonell, 23, Lemery, Batangas;

#6 Jona Sweett, 22, Aklan;

#31 Jeanyfer Garvilles Ozbot, 22, Iloilo City;

#28 Sheila Marie Reyes, 22, Valenzuela City;

#22 Chelsea Anne Manalo, 17, Meycauayan City, Bulacan;

#30 Kathleen Gomez, 23, Balete, Batangas; and

#33 Noelle Uy Tuazon, 25, Davao City.

The five others on Celso’s list: #27 Ella Eiveren Lubag (Sta. Rosa, Laguna), #5 Kaycie Lyn Fajardo (Manila), #18 Christine Angel Alvaira (San Nicolas, Batangas), #1 Shawntel Michole Cruz (La Union) and #20 Trizha Ocampo (La Union).

The four others on Felix’s list: #11 Gabriela Madarieta Ortega (Albay), #3 Glyssa Perez (Bohol), #14 Cristina Marie Coloma (Northern Samar), and #23 Princess Laureano (Aurora Province).
