How fatherhood changed Kean Cipriano

MANILA, Philippines — From a happy-go-lucky college dropout, Kean Cipriano has finally become a man ever since becoming a dad.
“I am more responsible now. I think, I hope. You get to know things na ‘di mo akalaing mangyayari sa’yo. 'Yung selflessness totoo s’ya eh, na when you have a family that you nurture and you love, magiging selfless ka talaga eh,” he explained on how becoming a father to his daughter with wife, actress Chynna Ortaleza, has made his life better.
“(Fatherhood) is good. I’m in a very good place. I’m truly grateful to have a family. I have two beautiful souls with me.”
How is he as a dad to Stellar?
“Hindi ko s’ya madedefine as hands-on lang because it’s a commitment. Talagang hanggang mamatay ako, inunurture at aalagaan ko, mamahalin ko ‘yung tao. I’m a very committed dad,” he further asserted in a recent interview with Philstar.com, during the launch of Ray-Ban’s latest eyewear collection.
Since he and Chynna married discreetly, do they have any plans of a big church wedding?
“Let’s see,” Kean cajoled. “That’s a part of my life that I want to be private. It’s that sacred to us.”
How does he balance work with family?
“I don’t even know how to handle showbiz up to this point,” he professed.
This year, Kean anticipates the showing of his latest movie, “Bar Boys,” together with Carlo Aquino, Enzo Pineda and Rocco Nacino.
He knows he will not be famous forever, so he plans to go back to college and take up Advertising, and also study film directing at Mowelfund. So far, he likes to take things as they come and enjoy the moment with his wife and daughter.
As he said: “Me and my wife, we’re very free. Every time we create art, we do a movie, music, masaya na kami sa ginagawa namin, so para ma-handle namin ang showbiz industry, chill lang. We’re having a great time!”
