HOLLYWOOD — Celebrated Filipino actress Kris Aquino might have not yet confirmed being an official cast member of the upcoming Warner Brothers adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s bestselling novel, “Crazy Rich Asians,” but Filipinos need not fret because they now have a sure representative in the upcoming Hollywood film.

Nico Santos, a Filipino-American comedian born and raised in the Philippines according to Superstore-nbc.wikia.com, has been officially declared a part of the “Crazy Rich Asians” cast headlined by Henry Golding, Constance Wu, Gemma Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina and Ken Jeong.

Living in California “by way of Portland, Oregon,” Santos began doing stand-up comedy in San Francisco. Due to his quirky impersonations and sarcastic wit, he immediately became a  fixture in the local comedy scene.

Since then, he has written scripts for E! Network's "Fashion Police" and appeared on Showtime's "Pride Comedy Jam," as well as in TV series like “2 Broke Girls,” "Mulaney” and "Ground Floor." He was also in the regular panel of "Chelsea Lately."

Currently, Nico stars as Mateo on NBC’s “Superstore” comedy series. He has also made flicks such as “The Clapper” with Ed Helms and Amanda Seyfried and “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.”

“Crazy Rich Asians” has started filming and will be shot in Malaysia and Singapore. The Jon M. Chu-directed movie is based on Kwan’s romantic comedy revolving around the lives of New Yorker Rachel Chu, played by Wu, and her longtime boyfriend Nick Young, portrayed by Golding, as they attend the wedding of Young’s best friend in Singapore.
