Catriona is Miss World Talent Top 10 finalist

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine bet to the 2016 Miss World Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray became one of the Top 10 talent finalists after the Top 21 semi-finalists performed their best last Monday night, Dec. 3 (Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, Manila time). Catriona sang I Believe.

Others who made it to the Top 10 were Miss Poland Kaja Klimkiewicz (singer), Miss Hungary Tímea Gelencsér (acrobat), Miss Latvia Linda Kinca (dancer), Miss Mongolia Bayartsetseg Altangerel (magician), Miss Chile Antonia Cristal Figueroa Alvarado (violinist), Miss Croatia Angelica Zacchigna (singer), Miss Malta Anthea Zammit (dancer), Miss Ukraine Oleksandra Kucherenko (pianist and dancer) and Miss Canada Anastasia Lin (pianist).

The public will vote who will ultimately be the talent champion and earn the right to perform on stage during the Coronation Night on Dec. 18 at the MGM National Harbour Grand Theater in Maryland, USA.

The candidates will also battle it out in the following events: Sports, Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose and Multimedia. The Dances of the World segment has been eliminated from this edition.

Meanwhile, Catriona shared in her official Facebook page that her roommate is Miss Ireland Niamh Kennedy. The 119 delegates are currently billeted in Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and will transfer to Gaylord National Harbor Resort in nearby Maryland before the finals.

She wrote: “After a long drive from New York to Washington, I finally arrived at the Hyatt Regency, Washington and met up with my Miss World 2016 sisters! We all had dinner together and got allocated to our rooms with our roomies!! And mine is...Ireland, Niamh is such a wonderful and spirited young woman and I’m so happy that we’ve been paired together!”

On her wardrobe, Catriona said, “I have eight bonggang-bonggang gowns. And then, I have really eight beautiful cocktail dresses, and then 10 medyo relax cocktail dresses... a collection of designs from Francis Libiran, Nat Manilag, Edwin Tan, Rex Nicdao, Mak Tumang and others.”

Before flying to Washington, Catriona spent time with 2013 Miss World Megan Young and 2014 Miss World Top 26 Valerie Weigmann in New York City. The three Miss World Philippines sisters had a blast in their short meet-up.
