MANILA, Philippines - Maine Mendoza got a very special gift from an unexpected but equally special source on Valentine's Day.

On Sunday, poet Lang Leav shared on her official social media account a poem she wrote about the AlDub tandem.

AlDub, of course, is the portmanteau of Alden Richards and Maine, best known as Yaya Dub, on "Eat Bulaga."

Hello to my friends in the Philippines. Maine Mendoza asked me if I could write a poem for AlDub so I did. Happy Valentine’s Day! xo Lang

The poem, titled "Stars in Love," reads: 'We were two old souls/since time began--/before light was measured/in years.//We are stars that fell/from glittering skies,//to find each other here."

The poem is accompanied by an illustration of Maine.

Lang is an international best-selling poet who has written books such as "Love & Misadventure," "Lullabies" and "Memories."

According to her website, she is the winner of a Qantas Spirit of Youth Award and coveted Churchill Fellowship.

Lang posted the poem after a Twitter follower asked the poet to write a verse about AlDub.

She replied:

On the comments section of her Facebook post, Lang said: "It's so lovely to see all the positive feedback. I enjoyed putting this piece together and I'm really happy with the poem and sketch of Maine Mendoza."

She added, "It was a lot of fun and let's not forget Valentine's Day is all about love. So keep sharing the good vibe."

Maine thanked Lang for the poem hours after it was posted.

According to reports, past social media posts of Maine indicate that she has been a fan of Lang even before entering showbiz.
