MANILA, Philippines - After trying comedy in her last Metro Manila Film Festival entries, Kris Aquino returns to the horror genre in this year’s annual movie fest with “Feng Shui 2.”
This time, the TV host-actress stars with actor Coco Martin. The two previously worked together in the ABS-CBN TV show “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.”
Directed by Chito Roño, the 2014 movie is a continuation of the 2004 hit movie.
In a previous interview with members of the press, Kris said she got the idea to do a second Feng Shui movie from Coco himself, who said in an interview that he would want to do a horror movie.
“Kung gagawan din ako ng horror, syempre gusto kong makatrabaho si Kris,” Coco said. “Forte ni Kris ito, e.”
“Ang horror kasi needs to appeal to the male audience, ang kailangan n’yang (Coco) dalhin yun,” Kris said.
Expectations are high for the movie as the first Feng Shui was, at one point, the Philippines’ highest grossing film of all time.
But Kris said she’s willing to concede the top spot to the Vice Ganda movie, “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” which also stars her son Bimby.
“Syempre, si Bimby ang number one. Magpakatotoo tayo,” Kris quipped.
“Feng Shui 2” also stars Cherry Pie Picache, Joem Bascon, Carmi Martin and Martin Escudero, among others.
