Sexy Talk with Ogie A.

His birthday concert called Throwback Thursday, presented by OPM (of which he’s president) at Music Museum on Aug. 28, 8 p.m. with Ryan “Mr. C” Cayabyab as musical director (call TicketWorld for tickets at 891-9999), will feature songs from the ‘80s so Ogie Alcasid requested Funfare to have his “retro” photos with this story. Maybe in keeping with the mood of his show, Ogie was being “senti” during the mini-presscon at Jet 7 Bistro (ground floor of President’s Tower along Timog Avenue, Quezon City). Asked how his grown-up daughters, Leila and Sarah (with ex-wife Michelle van Eimeren) are doing, Ogie turned sad.

“She (Leila) just broke up with her boyfriend and she was crying on the phone when we talked,” said Ogie. “She’s turning 17 na. Mabait naman ‘yung kanyang boyfriend, este, special friend, slightly older, masipag mag-aral at may trabaho. I told her that life is like that, dadaan talaga ang lahat sa heartache. Habang umiiyak siya, naiiyak din ako. Sa loob-loob ko, dapat maghanap siya ng katulad ko but on second thought, parang hindi yata dapat. I realized that you really have to teach your son (He and wife Regine Velasquez have one, Nate, who’s turning three years old in November. — RFL) to respect women. When I talked to her the next day, she said she was okey na. What about your grades? I asked her. She said matataas pa rin and I was relieved. You know how parents are, their main concern is their children’s performance in school.”

Incidentally, Ogie has been avoiding being pinned down for a “sexy talk” until the presscon for Throwback Thursday.

“Regine Velasquez.”

When do you feel sexy?

“When I’m funny.”

“My cheek bones.”

“Her face…and her lips.”

When did you lose your innocence?

“I haven’t. Hahahaha!”

“Ahhh, I think to an older woman. Who was she? Never mind. It’s a long story.”

“Alam mo, actually it’s The Bible. It has many seductive stories, especially the one about David and Bathsheba. Very sexy ‘yon, ha!”

“9 1/2 Weeks. I saw it when I was young at siempre medyo na-shocked ako doon.”

“The guitar.”

“Let’s Ask Pilipinas, my show on TV5. Hahahaha!”

“Anything from Ryu Ramen & Curry (a Japanese resto along Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City).”

“Parang wala na akong ganyan.”

“I like wearing dark suits kasi nagmumukha akong matangkad at naitatago ko ‘yung mga taba ko.”

“When it’s hot, pero rarely na kasi nga may baby na, eh.” (Note: Nate attended his first day at Bridges School on the day of the interview. “He’s advanced for his age,” said the proud dad.)

“My wife’s.”

“Solenn Heussaff, Ellen Adarna and…” Pauses and laughs while looking at his third choice beside him…”Lolit Solis.” (Intriga: Sorry, Regine, you’re not on the list!)

= Shane Filan, former front man of Westlife, will have a solo concert on Oct. 1 at the World Trade Center Manila, presented by Midas Promotions. The first time Shane was here was in 2011 with the other Westlife guys.
