MANILA, Philippines – Lyca Gairanod of Team Sarah Geronimo was hailed as the first "The Voice Kids" Philippines grand champion.
Lyca and her parents were emotional when her name was announced.
The results of the competition were based on the kids' performances in Saturday' (July 26) face-off night and their numbers Sunday night with guest celebrities.
Coach Sarah said after Lyca's performance: "That's my superstar, Lyca! Parang concert mo! Masayang masaya ako na ako'y umikot para sa 'yo!"
Darren Espanto of Team Sarah was the first runner-up followed by Team Bamboo's bet, Juan Karlos Labajo, ànd Darlene Vibares of Team Lea.
Aside from the title, Lyca bagged Php1 million in cash, a recording contract with MCA Universal, a house and lot, a home appliance showcase, a musical instrument showcase, and a trust fund worth Php1 million.
