What Sarah Geronimo learned from boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli

MANILA, Philippines – Sarah Geronimo said boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli taught her to “live life to the fullest,” especially now that she's about to turn 26 years old later this month.

 

“Life is short, e. Mga artista tayo, mga public figures tayo. Pero it is also our right to live our [lives] to the fullest. Experience life, enjoy life, grow, mature, be a 26 years old,” the singer-actress said in an interview with ABS-CBN's showbiz talk show “The Buzz” aired Sunday, July 6.

 

It can be remembered that Sarah admitted she and Matteo are officially together a few weeks ago during the thanksgiving party for her movie “Maybe This Time.” This is after several months of being mum of the real status of her relationship with the ABS-CBN actor.

 

Why did Sarah decide to finally open up on her relationship with Matteo? “Bilang magtwe-twenty six na ako, parang na-realize ko sa sarili ko na it's time to decide na maging normal—maging normal na tao, maging normal na babae, maging normal sa emosyon. There's nothing wrong with it,” she explained.

“If happy little blue birds fly, bakit naman ako hindi rin?” Sarah quipped.

 

She added, “So sabi ko iadmit natin. Yun na, wala ng follow-up na questions para hindi nasabi ng mga taong, 'Ito namang si Sarah, sobrang deny-deny.' Hindi rin kasi naiintindihan ng lahat kung ano yung mga pinagdadaanan natin e, kung ano yung rason kung bakit may mga bagay na kailangang ipribado muna.”

 

But the “Ikot-Ikot” singer wants to keep her relationship with Matteo as private as possible. “Sabi ko sa sarili ko, 'Oo, sasabihin ko, ia-admit ko. Pero yung details, sana sa amin na lang yun,” she said.

 

Does she believe Matteo is worth keeping? “Syempre naman. Ako, Kapag nagmahal ka ng isang tao, syempre andun yung tinitignan yun na worth keeping. 

 

Sarah also remains thankful to her parents for continuosly reminding her to take care of herself. 

 

“Kailangan talaga alam natin kung paano pag-ingatan ang sarili natin. Of course we are not perfect. Mga tao tayo, at mga babae tayo. And part of loving is being with that someone. Iba talaga yun e, kapag kasama mo siya. Pero importanteng matutunan mo yung self-control. Unang-una sa lahat, yung faith mo sa Diyos na hindi dapat minamadali ang mga bagay-bagay,” she said.Z
