Gullas appoints new Talisay administrator

CEBU, Philippines - A barrister has been appointed the new administrator of Talisay City.

Mayor Eduardo Gullas named Rudelyn Navarro as his choice to assume the position and help him in the planning and implementing city projects.

"She is a barrister, she took the board exam last month, she can help the department heads and other phases of city hall efforts," Gullas said of Navarro.

In August, city administrator lawyer Aven Piramide resigned from his post to concentrate on his work as Associate Dean of the University of Visayas College of Law.

Since then, the position has been vacant until Gullas decided to select Navarro to assume the post.

Navarro said she is now waiting for the City Council's approval of her appointment.

She said she was not expecting Gullas to appoint her to the post, hoping that the council will approve her appointment.

Gullas said he will talk to the council regarding Navarro's appointment.
