Princess of endorsements

CEBU, Philippines - When you can spur at least 200 Cebuanos to part with their P3,000 just to rub elbows with you and have that precious photo – that’s celebrity power right there.

ABS-CBN princess Kathryn Bernardo did just that in a recent Cebu rendezvous with her fans at The Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu, wherein she helped launch phone brand Huawei’s new models in an event dubbed “The Royal Affair.”

What made the limited edition Huawei Y5 and Huawei Y3 so covetable for the actress’ followers? The phone’s back covers happened to be stamped with designs personally selected by Kathryn, and with her signature to boot. Designs included the Eiffel Tower of Paris, a kiss mark, a princess’ crown and her favorite quotation, “Do what you love, love what you do.”

According to Huawei Philippines Senior Marketing Manager Corinne Bacani, they picked the “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” star as their first endorser in the Philippines because they felt she personifies what Huawei is all about.

“If we were to describe her, she’s talented, intelligent, very stylish and she reaches for her dreams. All these characteristics are what embodies Huawei,” Bacani said.

Part of the event’s proceeds were donated by Huawei Philippines to Kathryn’s charity of choice.

The Cebu event is only the first leg of a series of The Huawei Y3 and Y5 Royal Affair events. To be up-do-date on the details of the next event, follow HuaweiDevicePH on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. / Photos by KRISTINE JOYCE CAMPAÑA (FREEMAN)
