PAL moves Mid East flights to Terminal 1

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Airlines (PAL) is moving flights to and from destinations in the Middle East except Dubai to Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) starting July to ease passenger volume of Terminal 2.

The flag carrier said in a statement flights to and from the Middle East except Dubai will depart from and arrive in NAIA Terminal 1 effective July 1. 

Flights to the Middle East covered by the new terminal assignment are: PR 662 Manila–Jeddah; PR 668 Manila–Kuwait; PR 656 Manila–Abu Dhabi; PR 682 Manila–Dammam; PR 684 Manila–Doha; and PR 654 Manila–Riyadh. 

Meanwhile, flights from the Middle East t are PR 663 Jeddah–Manila; PR 669 Kuwait–Manila; PR 657 Abu Dhabi–Manila; PR 683 Dammam–Manila; PR 685 Doha–Manila; and PR 655 Riyadh–Manila.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said in a text message, the move is intended “to help ease passenger volume at Terminal 2.”

She said arrivals of several US flights are also assigned at Terminal 1. 

Passengers of PAL’s Middle East flights are advised to take note of the new terminal assignment. 

To get flight information, passengers may visit www.philippineairlines.com, call hotline (02) 855 – 8888 or visit the nearest PAL ticketing office or partner travel agent.

Earlier, PAL announced it would suspend flights to and from Abu Dhabi starting July 8, as part of an ongoing assessment of routes being served.

PAL president and chief operating officer Jaime Bautista has said the Middle East market has become competitive as other carriers operating there could fly passengers even to points outside of that region.
