MANILA, Philippines - To help companies handle issues effectively in public, the Center for Global Best Practices is launching a pioneering seminar titled, “Best Practices in Issues Management in Times of Controversies” on Jan. 17, 2016 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.

This issues management and crisis communications program will teach the weapons and tools to deal with issues and provide best practices ideas and policies to prevent, contain or solve bad news from spreading in the media. Whether you are in the private, government or non-profit sector, it’s a must and highly recommended for business owners, board directors, leaders, senior management, business consultants, PR and media practitioners to learn these valuable lessons.

The program will prepare you and your organization on what to do before, during and after a crisis happens by providing you many examples, lessons and narratives on successful issues management campaigns. When you are a target of bad publicity, this seminar will teach you how to fight back effectively with the weapons and tools you will learn from this program.

This learning event will feature Dante Velasco, who will lecture on combining the street-wise experience of a battle-tested communicator, advocate and public relations person, and having a superior strategy in campaign management. He learned all of these special skills from his training and experiences on crisis communications locally and overseas. He was chairman and CEO of Creative Point International, the Philippine affiliate of global PR and advocacy firm Hill & Knowlton. He has won many awards including the 2016 Distinguished UP Alumnus Award in Communications, Grand Anvil award, trophies from Public Relations Society of the Philippines, and International Association of Public Communicators. He was undersecretary at the DOTC and presently serving as senior adviser to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
