MANILA, Philippines — Passengers were evacuated safely from a Cebu Pacific-owned plane that encountered a wheel fire in Cebu on Monday night, the company said in an advisory.
According to the advisory, Cebgo flight DG6577 bound for Tacloban had earlier aborted take off because of a "fluctuating oil indication" in one of its engines."
The airplane — an ATR-72 turboprop plane, according to the Cebu Pacific website — encountered a wheel fire as it was taxiing after the aborted take off. "The crew initiated an immediate evacuation of the passengers," the airline said.
It said that all 67 passengers were evacuated safely but also said one passenger suffered a minor injury. "CEB's on-ground team is providing all assistance as necessary," the airline said.
Cebgo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cebu Pacific.
