Travel promo expo ongoing at SMX

MANILA, Philippines – The ongoing tourism promo extravaganza at the SMX Convention Center opens its doors to the traveling public for another year of price discounts and bargain deals.

“Participating in the three-day Travel Madness Expo are all sectors of the local and international tourism industry, each ready with exciting package deals to offer, with day-long raffle draws, entertainment and instant prizes to further spice up the festivities,” said Raymond Tee, president of event organizer Travel Innovators Inc. (TII).

Among the participants are at least 22 international airlines, 48 big travel agencies, 40 top hotels and resorts, four theme parks and six cruise ships, 13 national tourism organizations of various countries, and 16 retailers and global service providers, among many others.

TII vice president Maria Paz Alberto said the forthcoming federalization of the government system would be a big boost to tourism, especially with the localization of most policy and physical support infrastructure.

“We can expect an increase in the number of our tourism destinations resulting from the enhanced empowerment of the LGUs to develop their respective communities on various fronts,” Alberto explained.

“There can also be an increase in international city-to-city and province-to-province sisterhood agreements involving economic tie-ups, social exchanges, and reciprocal, or co-promotion of tourism, thus adding vigor to both inbound and outbound travel, with the Travel Madness Expo incentivizing all these imminent prospects with packaged deals at bargain prices,” Alberto added.
