DoubleDragon embarks on 1st US roadshow

MANILA, Philippines - DoubleDragon Properties Corp. is embarking on its first roadshow in the US to meet with global investors this week.

Hannah Yulo, chief information officer and senior vice president of DoubleDragon, said they are meeting with global mutual funds and other investors in several cities across the US to share updates on the company’s  operations and expansion plans.

Institutional equities broker Decker & Co., which has offices in the US and Asia, is arranging the meetings with global investors.

“In the context of challenging market conditions, institutional investors are especially focused on high-quality companies, including in the consumer space,” said Mark Decker, founder and CEO of Decker & Co.

Decker said some global investors have expressed interest in DoubleDragon, which debuted on the local bourse in April 2014.

It plans to raise P15 billion through the issuance of preferred shares, retail bonds or corporate notes to achieve its goal of having one million square meters in commercial and office leasable space.

DoubleDragon develops community malls under the CityMall brand and has found a niche in the retail property space in the Philippines by bringing shopping convenience to communities in the outer provinces.

The company is developing the Jollibee Tower along Ortigas and the mixed-use commercial and office building, DD Meridian Park, which are targeted for completion in 2018 and 2020, respectively, in Metro Manila.

Other projects include The SkySuites Tower, which is expected to be completed in 2018, and the DD Happy Homes.

Recently completed projects include WH Taft Residences, student apartments, and Dragon8 Mall.
