Max’s expands China presence

MANILA, Philippines - Max’s Group Inc. is expanding its presence in China through Yellow Cab Pizza.

This after MGI signed an agreement with Chinese firm Changsha New Yorker Catering Management Co., Ltd., to establish at least 10 Yellow Cab Pizza stores in Hunan province in the next five years.

 MGI’s initial foray into this market is through Beijing, Tianjin and parts of Hebei Province.

“This is the second franchise contract secured in China within the span of a few months. The strong interest in Yellow Cab Pizza reinforces our vision of growing the brand successfully all over the Chinese region,” said Max’s Group president and CEO, Robert Trota.

“We consider Changsha New Yorker Catering Management Co., Ltd. a suitable partner to serve our products in another key area in China. They possess the capabilities and business acumen to operate successfully,” Trota added.

The latest agreement, the third for the company this year, has grown its total pipeline of stores abroad to 111.

By 2020, the company hopes to have established a network of 200 outlets overseas.

For his part, Changsha New Yorker director Felix Lee said they are very excited about the partnership.

“We are very confident that Yellow Cab Pizza can quickly expand the market and become the leading pizza brand of China market,” Lee said.

At present, Yellow Cab operates a network of 135 branches including six franchised outlets located in Qatar and 1 in UAE.

The Max’s Group is composed of various brands which include Max’s Restaurant, Pancake House, Yellow Cab Pizza, Krispy Kreme, Jamba Juice, Max’s Corner Bakery, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s, Meranti, Le Coeur De France, Maple, Kabisera, Singkit and Sizzlin’ Steak.
