Peso closes week strong

MANILA, Philippines - The peso closed the week by rallying against the dollar, closing at 43.59 from the previous day's 43.71.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $845.5 million, higher than the $807.7 million posted on Thursday.

The peso opened Friday at 43.72.
