Clark airport-Manila transport service opens

MANILA, Philippines - Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) sees the launching of the dedicated bus service for Metro Manila passengers between Trinoma in Quezon City and the Clark International Airport boosting passenger traffic in the gateway in Pampanga.

CIAC president and chief executive officer Victor Jose Luciano said passenger traffic at the Clark International Airport is expected to further increase this year with the scheduled opening of the TriNoma-Clark Airport Lounge today.

Luciano said the dedicated bus service for Metro Manila passengers would improve connection between the Clark International Airport and Metro Manila as well as the rest of the South.

 â€œConnectivity to Metro Manila will be much improved when a dedicated first class bus service will start plying their route via Trinoma-Clark-Trinoma with affordable fare of only P200,” he stressed.

Four bus firms including Philtranco, Genesis, Victory Liner, and Five Star would start plying the route to Clark airport in a bid to attract more Metro Manila and the Southern Tagalog residents to experience seamless travel via Clark.

He pointed out that CIAC and Trinoma would sign today a memorandum of agreement for the establishment of the Clark Airport Lounge.

He added that the government did not spend a single centavo in the Trinoma-Clark Airport Lounge that is equipped with comfortable waiting area, secured luggage counter, and real-time flight status updates.

 â€œThe Clark Airport Lounge is fully furnished located at the Trinoma Mall which is open 24/7 and passengers would have a taste of the first class amenities of the lounge,” Luciano added.

The Clark Airport is the fastest growing airport in the country posting a 71 percent growth in passenger volume last year. Clark posted a record 1.3 million passengers last year or 533,000 higher than the 767,000 passengers recorded in 2011.
