MANILA, Philippines -  Karis Oglesby just could not handle her excitement after almost a year of not seeing her soldier father.

A video caught the two-year-old girl run towards her father, 1st Lt. Daniel Oglesby, in a middle of a homecoming ceremony in Colorado this Tuesday.

Wearing her all American outfit, Karis interrupted a military homecoming to embrace her father who was standing in formation for a formal welcome from their commander. It was the first time Karis saw her father after his eight-month deployment in Kuwait.

As any father would perhaps do, the Lieutenant bent down to reciprocate the embrace of his daughter.

The 33-year-old Oglesby told FOX 21 News that he did not have the heart to not give his little baby a hug.
