1st Elements National Songwriting Camp extends deadline of application

MANILA, Philippines – Envisioned to be an annual gathering of aspiring and professional songwriters, the 1st Elements National Songwriting Camp is an out-of-the-classroom mentorship program meant to discover and develop new talent for the benefit of the local music industry.

According to camp host and 7101 Music Nation artistic director Ryan Cayabyab, 60 selected participants, 20 each  from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will get the chance to learn from the masters and OPM icons for five days in Dumaguete, all expenses paid.

The songwriting workshop will present modules on Musikang Pinoy: History 101, Basic Music Creation, Lyrics, Beyond Music and Words, Commercial Music Structures, The Music Producer, Publishing & New Business Trends, Music & Technology, Music Videos & Production and Music & Inspiration.  

Speakers, lecturers, and team facilitators include Jim Paredes, South Border's Jay Durias, Side A's Joey Benin, Joey Ayala, Noel Cabangon, Gary Granada, Gary Valenciano, Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar, Gabby Alipe of Urbandub, Sponge Cola's Yael Yuzon, Jonathan Manalo, Jungee Marcelo, Trina Belamide, and many more.
