President Rodrigo Duterte welcomed Boy Scouts as young as 4 years old at Malacañan Palace and advised them to enter training in preparation to become soldiers.

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday told young scouts who were at Malacañang to enter the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) to learn how to fight national enemies.

"Ang gusto ko lumaki kayo, mag boy scout, mag PMT (Preparatory Military Training), tapos maging ROTC kayo para may training kayo sa baril at paano makipag-away ng kalaban," Duterte said during the Scouts’ Day Celebration on Monday.
