Christmas in May

The elections are over. Thousands of newly elected national and local officials will take their oath come June 30 and will lead the Filipino people in the next three years. But one nagging question that persists is: "Are some of these newly elected officials qualified to serve and as such deserve to be called honorable?"

We know how the elections were done. Though it was generally peaceful, but orderly and clean? Tell it to the marines! Some of the machines used malfunctioned causing inconvenience to the voting public and the worst was the massive vote buying that caused one newspaper columnist to observe the occasion as gift giving because money was given left and right without discrimination. And I may add that it maybe aptly called Christmas in May.
