Political beatitude for the Filipinos

Blessed are the poor provinces, cities and municipalities, whose governors and mayors have not transformed their LGUs  into family corporations, where sons, grandsons, daughters, granddaughters, wives, and mistresses do not inherit the mantle of political supremacy. Blessed are the LGUs not transformed into kingdoms, where people are but virtual subjects — exploited, and pressured to sell votes under the powers of gold, guns and goons. Blessed are the districts whose congressmen have no ghost projects and consultants, and do not go on junkets. Blessed are senators who are not jailed for alleged links with drugs, or for DAP and PDAP. Blessed are the detained men and women who are still receiving millions of salaries and emoluments from the taxes of the poor — and still called honorable.

Blessed are those who do not mourn for their sons, victims of extrajudicial killings, either by the authorities or drug syndicates. Blessed are those who do not grieve for their fathers and husbands, executed by drug lords or death squads for knowing too much. Blessed are the meek, and who are invoking their rights against self-incrimination and remaining silent — at peace and unmolested. Blessed are those who refuse to report crimes they witness for they shall be safe from retaliation by both criminals and crime busters. Blessed are the ignorant who know nothing about ideologies for neither the rebels nor the military shall disturb their serenity.

Blessed are the merciful who have summarily eliminated the thieves, robbers, snatchers and molesters. Blessed are they who kill in good faith and terminate the lives of criminals and addicts, with the purest intentions. Blessed are the pure in hearts, the peacemakers, who never get tired listening to the lies of JoMa Sison and the Abu Sayyaf, while the terrorists continue to undermine national security, and while the NPA continue to kill our police and soldiers. Blessed are those who died; they are already safe from pollution, typhoons, inflation, and unabated taxation.

Blessed are the hungry because the cartel are hiding the rice stocks for an artificial shortage, driving the prices up, perking up the economy like smugglers, tax-evaders and saboteurs. Blessed are the casuals and job-order workers in government because— sans job security and social protections— they are outside the scope of DOLE’s drive against endo and 5.5.5. Blessed are OFWs who must leave their loved ones to work in dangerous, and degrading jobs. If raped, maltreated and subjected to injustice, at least they can go home at OWWA’s expense and are always abroad, away from the anguish of a suffering nation.

Blessed are you if PDEA arrests and handcuffs you, or bring you to the high priests in courts; at least you will be under judicial, not extrajudicial, solution. Blessed are you if not cursed by the Tulfo brothers or bullied by Mocha Uson supporters; at least you have your voice heard, while others betrayed the truth and turned against the son of man, and all else are silent amid chaos and too much vexations to the spirit. Blessed are you who are not at peace.
