Dispute over 'daob'

THE EAR - The Freeman

FIRES OF DISCONTENT. A man and his neighbor are now at loggerheads after the man decided to burn the trash people throw near his house. He argued that he had no choice; passersby would throw their trash near his house and he could not assume responsibility for the huge pile.

The neighbor argued that the resulting smoke irritated the neighborhood, and the fire presented a hazard, not to mention it was against a city ordinance.

And so the daily drama plays out to the amusement of others living nearby; the man would come out in the morning, complain about the huge trash pile and set fire to it, then his neighbor would come out, complain about the smoke and smell, then put it out.

"Mora ra na sila'g nab-abat-abat," one of them told The EAR.
