I heard a Manila tv program host who said: "We covered many 'pay-pal' activities including the 'pay-pal' Mass in Tacloban." Is that correct? If so, is it OK to say: 'The Santo Pay-pa" was here?

It says here that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather met for the first time in Miami and they swapped mobile phone numbers. What people have long been waiting is for them to swap punches.

I got some e-mail messages asking me to comment on the death or massacre of the 44 members of the PNP Special Action Force. As if my comment would carry any weight. But I say that of all the comments I heard from people who count, I find ex-Sen. Ping Lacson's statement the most weighty and which I share.

Sir Ping Lacson, who is former PNP chief, said PNoy should ask (I say, demand) the MILF to explain why they were in the thick of fight against the PNP-SAF troopers despite the still ongoing peace process.

The government and the MILF peace panels have signed a decommissioning of rebel weapons following last Sunday's carnage of police commandoes in Maguindanao. This is to ensure, I'm told, that the rebel weapons are inventoried and turned over to a neutral body appointed to receive them.

You think the rebels will turn over their guns? A radio commentator asked. I ask the same question. "I hope they will," said a retired Phl Constabulary veteran. "Because unless they do the controversial peace deal will fail."

I once heard a Christian resident of a Muslim dominated town in Mindanao tell a story about the Muslim fathers in his neighborhood. "Silang tanan duna gyu'y mga pusil nga tinaguan. Adtong panahon sa martial law diin gipasurender ni Marcos ang tanang loose firearms, walay bisan usa kanila ang mi-turn over sa ilang armas."

***

Diha pa kunoy mga bana nga miingon: "Iluga lang akong asawa, ayaw akong pusil." That's why I ask: Will the decommissioning of MILF firearms achieve its purpose?
