Talisay to go after colorum vehicles at SRP

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Mayor Johnny De los Reyes will be deputizing members of the City of Talisay-Traffic Operation Development Authority (CT-TODA), the city's traffic arm, to go after vehicles illegally engaging in transport business, especially those plying the South Road Properties.

It was reported by the City Traffic Operations Management of Cebu City that at least 16 drivers were apprehended plying the SRP using colorum vehicles.

According to reports, these vehicles operate as public transportation without franchise and reportedly collect a P10 fare from the Senior Citizen’s Park to the area of the Kasadya sa SRP and even up to Talisay City.

In yesterday's regular press conference arranged by the city's information office, CITOM operations chief Jonathan Tumulak asked De los Reyes to assist the Cebu City government in apprehending the colorum vehicles.

"Dili namo kaya ang problema kung kami-kami lang mao nga magpatabang lang mi sa Cebu City to address on the issue on colorum vehicles diin kasagaran niini taga-Talisay City," Tumulak told De los Reyes.

A list of the apprehended colorum vehicles with their corresponding plate numbers has already been forwarded to the Land Transportation Office and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board for appropriate action. — Garry B. Lao (FREEMAN)
