CEBU, Philippines – A man allegedly carrying illegal drugs and firearm was arrested last Saturday afternoon in Sitio Pilapil, Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.
Rodel Dimapi alias "Kokoy," 24, was arrested by operatives of Opao Police Station after a resident in the area called the police to inform them that one man's waist was found bulging with a gun. The man was said to be looking for somebody in the area.
The informant said the man caused panic and fright among residents, police said.
Police Officer 3 Juanito Bulahan said Dimapi was arrested immediately upon the arrival of police.
During frisking, the police were able to seize from Dimapi's possession a .357 magnum pistol with two live ammunitions.
They also recovered from his right pocket two small packs of suspected shabu and two tin foils.
The suspect was immediately brought to Opao Police Station for detention while charges for violations of Section 11 and Section 12 of the RA 9165 and illegal possession of firearms are being readied against him.
