Woman loses cash, jewelry

CEBU, Philippines - A woman lost her cash and assorted jewelry to unknown robbers Tuesday evening in her residence at Palm Hills Subdivision in Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.

Dora Dilaoy, 37, married, reported to Basak Police she discovered the loss upon their arrival from a stroll past 9 p.m. She added the suspects gained entry from the back door.

Among the items lost were her P10,000 cash, assorted jewelry worth P150,000 and perfumes worth P15,000.

Six construction workers at the said subdivision had been invited for questioning by the Investigative and Detective Management Bureau after a victim's neighbor told police she saw some of the workers standing by the victim's house when the victim and her family left Tuesday afternoon.

Follow-up investigation, according to PO2 Roldan Balimbing, revealed a CCTV camera of the subdivision showed that the family left onboard a taxi at 4:56 while the workers left at 5:06.

"Atong gi-invite for questioning ang mga construction workers ug gikuhaan og finger prints kon mo-match ba ni sa finger prints nga nakuha sa SOCO. But kon CCTV ang basehan, imposible sad nga mabuhat pud nila ang pagpanglungkab in a span of few minutes kay nag taxi man sad ning mga workers nga nibiya sa subdivision," Balimbing said.

It was learned that there were no signs of forced entry into the victim's house. (FREEMAN)
