All set for Catmon leg of Northball Tour

CEBU, Philippines —  Hoop fans in the municipality of Catmon, north of Cebu brace themselves for an exciting and highly entertaining hardcourt action as the sought-after Northball Basketball Tour swings to their place on Saturday, October 1.

Game time is set at 8 p.m. at the Pedro J. Monsanto United Center.

The surefire blockbuster show features the star-studded Northball team against the Dondon Hontiveros-led Fighter Fifty.

“It will be a great day for basketball fans in the municipality of Catmon as current PBA players and PBA legends will play right before their eyes,” said Northball founder Arjie Lacno.

Ex-PBA cagers Peter June Simon, Jayjay Helterbrand and Rico Maierhofer will banner the Northball squad.

They will see action alongside Pilipinas Super League Finals MVP Emman Calo, commercial veteran Steve Castro, University of Cebu’s foreign student-athlete Tosh Sesay, ex-University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancer Poypoy Actub, and Wesley Malazarte of the reigning PSL U21 Visayas champions Consolacion Sarok Weavers who are managed by his father Marc Malazarte.

They will take on the equally-tough Fighter Fifty side powered by Dondon Hontiveros, JR Quiñahan and Marion Magat of the NLEX Road Warriors, and the TNT Tropang Giga-bound Calvin Oftana.

Joining the Fighter Fifty roster are former Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) MVPs in Jaybie Mantilla of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars and Shaq Imperial of the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras.

Tickets for the slambang event supported by 032 Kicks by Miller in association with Catmon Mayor Avis Ginoo -Monleon and councilor George Molina are pegged at P150 for general admission and P350 for courtside. For further details, one may visit the Northball Facebook page.
