Truck N’ Trail rules open division of Opao caging

CEBU, Philippines —  The Truck N’ Trail Transport Services trounced Doc’Emz, 101-75, in their lopsided final match to clinch the open division crown of the Opao Basketball Tournament 2022 recently at the Opao gym in Mandaue City.

Zaionel Rosano topscored with 14 points while James Villafuerte and JP Dalumpines nailed 13 markers apiece for Truck ‘N Trail of coach Phil Mercader and team owner Dondon Aropo.

Dan Labata also made his presence felt with 12 points.

Kyle Dajalos scored only 11 but his all-around performance earned him the Finals Most Valuable Player award.

Jeric Gonzada and Lebron Tampus connived for 23 points in a losing effort for Doc’Emz.

Meanwhile, the other champion teams were Sampaguita (midget), Villa Mangga (junior B), Zianna Therese (junior A), and F and J Motors (senior).

The league was made possible behind the efforts of Earl Louis Alivio, Brian Regudo, and Ryan Gepulla. — EBV
