Lovi Poe addresses network transfer rumors

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky L. Calderon - The Freeman

There were reports that Lovi Poe was set to transfer to ABS-CBN after she did not renew her contract with GMA Network.

At the press conference of her latest Viva movie “The Other Wife,” Lovi said she is open to working with anybody. “It would be nice to explore other possibilities. But I can’t say so much since everything is still under negotiation. I would like to respect the confidentiality of the negotiations. I just finished my show and we are still talking,” the actress said.

Lovi experienced lock-in taping for her past teleseryes under GMA but this is the first time that she experienced it for a movie.

“What is nice about having a lock-in taping is everyone is safe. We made sure that everyone is safe. It worked well for everybody. We have our own work station,” she said.

She also enjoyed working with director Prime Cruz in “The Other Wife” that also stars award-winning actor Joem Bascon and upcoming actress Rhen Escaño.

Joem considers the birth of his baby with partner Meryll Soriano as a “big blessing.”

He said that being a father gives one a different kind of high, especially when he first saw and carried the baby in his arms. It was last January when the celebrity couple announced they have a baby and how happy they were when the child was born during the pandemic.

“I am very happy to be a father and I can’t explain how I feel. It’s hard to put my feelings into words. I probably didn’t mind much the pandemic because I was at home with Meryll and we were focused on our child,” said the lead actor of “The Other Wife.”

Joem had a hard time adjusting when he had to leave Meryll and their child when he reported for the lock-in shoot of “The Other Wife” in La Union last April. But the actor understands he needs to sacrifice and work even if there is a pandemic for the future of his family.

“The Other Wife” talks about crazy love and is a different kind of sexy-thriller film. It will have its global premiere on July 16 via ktx.ph, iWantTFC, TFC IPTV for P249. It will also be streamed on Vivamax.

The joining of forces of Star Music, Polaris, and A Team, headed by multi-awarded singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, paved the way for the entry of much-heralded performers and hosts in the Star Magic stable.

The biggest talent agency in the country continues to bring the best in the industry via the Star Magic Black Pen Day event last June 19. In the quest for new, unique and promising singers, among the discoveries of Star Music are Sab and Recio.

Sab couldn’t believe that her audition for Star Music when she was 15 will open the door for her to be a Star Magic newbie. Aside from being a singer and playing the ukulele, Sab is also a songwriter. She releaseds three singles last year and got a lot of views when she covered hit songs, including the theme song of “He’s Into Her.”

What she considers her biggest milestone is when her original song “She” was featured in the award-winning K-drama “Flower of Evil.” Before that, one of her songs was used in the BL series “Hello Stranger.”

Sab also expressed her intention to collaborate with other singer-songwriters like Jayda and Kyle Echarri.

For Recio, his being part of Star Magic and Star Music are both a humbling and inspiring experience. He is looking forward for more opportunities to hone his songwriting skills by working with the best artists in the music industry. He hopes to inspire the audience with his music, which is his avenue for self-expression.

Recio is kind of shy that’s why he only shares his music to close friends. He believes he is more confident now and is ready to do live performances once the pandemic is over. Among the Psychology student’s dreams is for a song of his becoming part of a coming-of-age film.

Under the helm of Ogie, the A-Team is now broadening its horizons as it becomes part of Star Magic. Watch out as the A-Team prepares for big productions, creative music and various genres.
