Attar backs Pacquiao or McGregor to beat Mayweather in rematch

CEBU, Philippines —  Paradigm Sports Management Founder and CEO Audie Attar firmly believes that his prized ward UFC star Conor McGregor or Filipino ring legend Manny Pacquiao would beat Floyd Mayweather in a rematch.

McGregor suffered a 10th round TKO defeat at the hands of Mayweather in his boxing debut in August 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, while Pacquiao lost by unanimous decision to Mayweather during their highly controversial ‘Fight of the Century’ on May 3, 2015 at the MGM Grand also in Vegas.

McGregor and Pacquiao had been clamoring for a return bout with Mayweather but the undefeated American boxer somehow kept on dodging them.

Instead, Mayweather opted to take on celebrity YouTuber Paul Logan in an exhibition match on February 20 with no confirmed venue.

In a report by boxingscene.com, Attar thinks that Mayweather is picking easy opponents such Logan or Tenshin Nasukawa to preserve his perfect 50-0 record.

For the esteemed Iraqi-American manager who works for both McGregor and Pacquiao, either of his fighters will bring Mayweather down if ever they clash the second time around.

“I do believe Conor vs Floyd again, he beats him. I don’t think Floyd ever takes it,” Attar told Dubai Eye 103.8 Sport.  “Floyd’s taking YouTubers for a paycheck right now. Floyd could take Manny Pacquiao in a rematch, you don’t see him taking that fight. Floyd could take Conor McGregor for a rematch, you don’t see him taking that fight.”

“But he’ll take a Logan Paul. He’ll take the young Japanese fighter he fought previously. I think that’s what he’s going to do, Floyd knows he would lose if he took on either Manny Pacquiao or Conor McGregor,” Attar added.

With Mayweather out of the picture, Pacquiao and McGregor put themselves on collision course for a megabuck showdown that McGregor has earlier said will happen “sooner, rather than later”. — EBV
