ERCO-SWU claims solo lead in Aboitizland football

CEBU, Philippines — ERCO BRO-Southwester University snatched the solo lead in the men’s open division 1 of the 21st Aboitizland Football Cup with a 4-0 demolition of Don Sacredale at Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu football field in Canduman, Mandaue City yesterday.

Stephen Okeke led ERCO BRO-SWU after his back-to-back goals in the first half half via the 34th and 37th minute.

Don Sacredale continued to get disorganized that paved the way for Zamani Anieano to add a goal for ERCO BRO on the 63rd while teammate Epifanio Ynot sealed their team’s game on the 79th.

ERCO BRO-SWU now has 10 points to lead the battle out of three wins and a draw.

Makoto FC, on the other hand, trailed ERCO BRO after collecting its third win. Makoto FC booters won via default over University of San Jose-Recoletos.

Leylam FC also improved its standing to third spot with two wins and a draw, its second win of which was after dumping the University of Cebu-Kajitech, 6-1.
