SanRem Properties logs second win in Tropang Ballers

CEBU, Philippines —Former collegiate standout Randy de la Pisa led five players in double figures with 16 points as the San Remigio Properties downed Lauron Refrigeration and Airconditioning, 88-85, to stay unbeaten in two starts in the seventh season of the Tropang Ballers League at the Cebu City Sports Institute gym.

Ronan Isidro added 13 points, John Abad scored 12, while playing team owner Mark Anthony Ynoc and Victor Rabat nailed 10 markers apiece for SanRem, which used a daring fightback in the second half to turn the tables on the Lauron side.

Trailing 38-42 at halftime, SanRem used a sizzling 32-25 rally in the third period to seize control of the match for good.

Danny Aying scattered 18 points, while Junrie Hoybia and Jake Diamante connived for 25 points but to no avail as Lauron opened its campaign on the wrong foot.

On the the other hand, Dimsum Factory Cebu and MJE both barged into the win column.

Earl Montilla, Stanley Hapin and Rommel Gabuya combined for 36 points to power Dimsum Factory to a  close 76-72 decision over the Thurblazers Ball Club, while Jel Lubiano fired 22 points, Kristian Erik Ocañada and Carlo Velayo chalked up 31 points in between them as MJE trounced Meztizo, 92-74.

Also emerging victorious were UBS, Thurblazers Ball Club and Yoyi’s Pastries and Desserts.

Allan Dave Del Rosario dropped 22 points as the UBS tripped the Goaldiggers, 72-66, Marvin Cabrera tallied 15 markers to lift the Thurblazers Ball Club past the Gonzales Goldsmith, 70-62, while Danilo Suson unloaded 24 markers to catapult Yoyi’s Pastries and Desserts to a 88-58 demolition of Dimsum Factory Cebu.
