Accenture advances into finals in Aboitizland football

CEBU, Philippines — Team Accenture clinched the finals berth in the men’s BPO division after a 4-1 victory over Wipro in the  21st Aboitizland Football Cup yesterday at the University of Cebu-METC campus in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

Jeneymy Del Rosario scored the first goal for Wipro in the 11th minute, but Ralph Layumas tied the match in the 24th mark.

Accenture stepped up its game in the final half with Layumas scoring another one in 24th while teammates Jan Dominic Segaya and Vince Pregua added one goal each via the 30th and 36th.

Accenture’s female squad also escaped with a 2-1 win over Primary Group with Irish Escoto and Christine Catarinen leading the charge.

In the men’s open bracket, Don Bosco Alumni silenced CK FC, 3-2, while Mokoto FC pummeled Don Bosco Magone, 6-0.

Meanwhile, Celaros FC dumped ERCO, 5-1 in the executive division,  while the University of San Carlos alumni outsmarted Primary Structures, 2-1.

Sheba FC annihilated Makoto-Candum FC, 13-0, in the girls 12, while its girls 14 squad won via default against UC-METC. Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu lady spikers prevented Makoto-Candum FC from scoring another win in the girls 18 with a 4-1 victory.
